Sintra I

Sintra, Moorish Castle and Cabo da Roca.

Known as a land of fairy and magic, the town of Sintra is for me one of the most beautiful and mysterious places that I know in Portugal. Everytime I visit Sintra, I  discover new details and I feel like it is the first time that I'm here ... Day or night we can visit the village, discover castles and palaces, find the most western point of Europe, or the beautiful beaches that even with cold water have a very particular beauty. Discovering this zone is a bit like building a puzzle and always knowing a little more. The many centuries of history and the mixture of cultures and people that have passed here are reflected in the details of the shadows,in  the colors, in the houses, on the cobblestones of the streets and alleys or the luxuriant vegetation that surrounds the whole mountain and ends only in the Atlantic blue. In the posts of Sintra I will begin a trip where I will try to show all its beauty through my camera, throughout the year.

Built on one of the ridges of the Sintra mountain, the Moorish Castle offers a panoramic breathtaking view that stretches to the blue of the Atlantic. Definitely a place to visit.

Another place of great interest in the Sintra is Cabo da Roca. This is where the old continent ends and the great Atlantic begins so don't miss the chance to visit the westernmost point of mainland Europe.

Cabo da Roca is located at latitude 38º 47´north and longitude 9º 30´west and is
around 150 metres above the sea. For me, this is another of the magical places, where the game of colors, shadows and emotions are perfect. Before arriving at Cabo da Roca, a mandatory stop is the Blue Lagoon, where we can enjoy the great tranquility and beauty from small hidden paradise.
